The Cambridge Resource Economics Network
CRE has access to a network of economists with extensive expertise in natural resource economics, environmental economics, fisheries economics and policy. The network is qualified in natural resource economics, agricultural economics, development economics and fisheries. The team is familiar with working in multidisciplinary teams which combine skills in economics and management with science and technology, including environmental and biological sciences, engineering, planning and architecture.
Dr. Colin Barnes (Director) has over 20 years experience in research, training, consultancy and project management. He has a degree in economics and law from the University of Keele and postgraduate degrees in economics and development economics from the Universities of Reading and East Anglia (UEA). He undertook doctoral research at the University of Manchester in the area of privatisation and macroeconomic policy.
Colin has worked as an economist with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), ULG Consultants, and was Chief Economist with WS Atkins Planning and Planning Consultants in Cambridge. He was a research associate at Warwick Research Institute at the University of Warwick and a consultant with Salford University Business Services Limited.
As well as consultancy he is a visiting lecturer at Cranfield University and the University of Wales, Swansea. He has also taught and been involved in curriculum development at the Centre for Financial and Management Studies, University of London and Leeds University Business School.
