I will be teaching a course on natural resource and climate change economics to postgraduate students in the Faculty of Science, Aarhus University, Denmark.
Cranfield University: teaching a postgraduate course on natural resource economics with special reference to marine resources and energy. This follows on from teaching a module on welfare economics and the environment.
Other confirmed work includes:
Foresighting marine energy in Scotland, including supply chain analysis and the economic impacts of marine energy. This work will be carried out for ITI Energy.
EU: An ex post evaluation of the financial and governance aspects of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP).
Cambridge Resource Economics, together with the Marine Resources Assessment Group and the Natural Resources Institute, completes a study for the UK Department for International Development on the impacts of Fisheries Partnership Agreements.

Colin Barnes was economist/team leader on a review of the Norwegian government's support to fisheries projects in a number of middle and low income countries. The NORAD link on the right gives access to these reports. He led a similar project for the African Development Bank in 2007/2008 which included case study work in Benin, Cameroon, Djibouti and Malawi and which included a workshop with the African Development Bank and project managers in Tunis.

Scotland
Recent work has included a study on the economics and supply chain issues associated with development of marine energy in Scotland. The report is to be found here: MEG Supply Chain Survey Report (PDF file, 437KB), and it will shortly be posted on the Scottish Government website.

Mauritius
April - December 2009: I will be working with the RECOMAP Programme in Mauritius on the economic valuation of ecosystems in Flic en Flac in Western Mauritius.
